Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I have to add custom questions?
No. The standard instrument will be distributed automatically unless you choose to add your own.

Will I get feedback before grades are due?
No. Feedback is released only after all grades are submitted.

Can I compare my past feedback with new reports?
Yes. The Qualtrics dashboard will include feedback from Spring 2024 –Spring 2025 (collected in Blue) and current feedback going forward.

Can I see comments separated by question?
Comment reporting depends on the survey configuration. We’ll share more details as new reports become available.

What if I’m team-teaching or have a TA?
Surveys are set up based on instructor-of-record data conrolled by your department scheduler. If something looks off, contact scf@utah.edu.

How do I collect mid-semester feedback from my students?
CTE recommends using an anonymous quiz in Canvas. Click here for more details and step-by-step instructions to set it up.

Senate Advisory Committee on Student Course Feedback (SACSCF)

The SACSCF designed, and will revise as needed, a standardized “Student Course Feedback Instrument” and a standardized “Course Feedback Report” suitable for use in all credit-bearing courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
